PHG Meeting Info

NOTICE: Meetings will be held both in-person and on Zoom until further notice. Zoom links are provided in the PHG Calendar where Zoom participation is available.

PHG meets on the second Thursday of every month during September - June at the Multnomah Art Center.

Morning Meetings 10am - noon, 9:30am social
Evening Meetings 7pm - 9pm, 6:30 social

Meetings are free and open to the public. Meetings generally follow the same agenda:

Here’s news from the Small Looms Study Group.

  • Small Looms Study Group May 2024 minutes
    Only one person is available for the June meeting so it is cancelled. We decided to take the summer off, so there will be no meetings in July or August. In addition because of conflicts, we will have no meeting in October or March of 2025 (Retreat Weekend). For the PHG end of year meeting, we will announce for 2024/2025 that our theme would mirror the theme of the Association of Northwest Weaver’s Guild conference “Weaving Webs”. https://anwgconference.org/ There was a discussion on weaving hats.     Agenda: Notes on the discussion: The Wheel is an annual publication by Ashford that is recommended. We watched the interesting parts of a youtube video by Kari Fell on Weaving a V-Cowl on a rigid heddle loom. Some small looms for making samples were shown. They are from “Funky Craft Junkie” on etsy. There was a discussion on how to use two heddles of the same size to double the sett, The Schacht 9 inch mini boat shuttle was discussed because it is small enough to be used in the shed of many rigid heddle looms.
