Denise shared her Gees Bend quilt squares and we discussed the Mississippi workshop.
Carol: Had a deflected double weave that she first wove as towels and wanted to decide what else she could do with the piece. Keep a few as towels and sell at the Fall Sale and other sections would make a really nice tote bag possibly.
Christina: Has her ikat dyed and woven piece from the last meeting made now into a beautiful jacket. The Sewing Group from Columbia Fiber Arts Guild helped her find the right facing and collar fabric for the jacket and Sewsocial in Milwaukie helped her with fitting the facing piece.
Linda: Showed the pieces from the Gees Bend Workshop too.
She had yardage of 3 different but similar pieces and needed help deciding what to make from it; outcome a dress (?) with the log cabin on top and darker color & weave piece the body with hem trimmed in the last section (Need to weave more of the last piece.
She also shared the twill gamp she had made to decide the best twill pattern to use for a jacket in Donegal Wool from Ireland.
Garlin had a narrow chunky woven piece woven on a rigid heddle loom in a long strip and wanted inspiration for making it into something. Denise as model again and showed that it could make a really nice vest, cut into 2 pieces with back seam and front open. Or a shawl!
