Ruth Dabritz Legacy Project Clinic for Weaving Errors
The Clinic for Weaving Errors is a one-day workshop to help avoid, identify, and fix common weaving problems:
- broken and flawed warp threads
- warps twisted behind the reed
- threading errors (including how to make or insert new heddles)
- sleying errors
- tension problems
- draw-in
- dealing with twisted heddles
- how to recover the cross when it’s lost
Class fee includes a handout, Looms will be pre-warped with “errors” so that all will have an opportunity to practice. There will also be a discussion of the benefits of adding floating selvedges, whether they are always necessary, and different ways to weave them.
