One Warp, Many Structures: Explorations In Extended Parallel Threading Workshop with Denise Kovnat
Presented by Denise Kovnat; view her work here: Random Acts of Color
(from Denise’s workshop description) As Marian Stubenitsky has shown in Weaving with Echo and Iris, extended parallel threadings offer endless possibilities. In this workshop, designed for advanced beginners and beyond, you will arrive with your loom dressed in a two-color warp threaded on opposites. (Drafts will be provided about 6 weeks beforehand.) Working with a variety of tie-ups and treadlings, you will weave a series of designs in Echo, Jin (Turned Taqueté), Shadow Weave, Rep and Double Weave. The takeaway is a sampler of colorful patterns and a broader, deeper understanding of the potential for extended parallel threadings and how to design them. For 4-shaft to 32-shaft looms.
One Warp Many Structures will be held IN PERSON at the Beaverton Mill End Store, May 13-15, 2022. This is a 2 1/2 day workshop; we’ll start at 9am, and finish by 5pm on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 1-ish on Sunday.
With the minimum number of participants (8), the full cost of the workshop will be $275. As per our sliding fee scale, the more that sign up, the lower the total fee becomes. If we fill up, the total workshop cost per participant will be $150.
