So far this year (from July) we have:
Learned how to carve our own band weaving heddles! Elise gave us an equipment list, and then we had great fun at the meeting carving away.
We (or some of us) started a band weaving project, and shared with the group how we understand the notation (every single book is different), and how we might annotate or recast it to a form that we better understand.
We did a little exploration of double-faced tablet weaving.
And some of us wove a checkerboard band; the challenge was any style, but end up with a checkerboard.
We continue to have Show and Tell, and provide assistance to each other on any challenges we may have in band weaving.
We have defined Band Weaving to be any narrow ware, which besides inkle and tablet-woven bands, could include braids and other narrow-ware formats.
Our March meeting will have a presentation of pebble weave two ways – using tablets and inkle.
