With our move to a 501(c)(3), the board has discussed how we handle donations and grants. The board has decided that we should add a member to the board who can help lead these efforts and coordinate these activities with a group made up of people with a desire and experience to help us make the most of these potential opportunities. A proposed amendment has been drafted, and we will be voting on this change to the bylaws at our December meeting.
Here’s the text of the proposed addition to the bylaws:
6.4.9. Development Director. The Development Director chairs the committees responsible for handling donations to the guild, and develops and implements goals and plans for fundraising for the guild.
