Linda Edquist
Books with Pictures is located in the Hosford-Abernathy district of Portland on the corner of SE Division & SE Orange St. This is a hub for lovers of graphic books, from children to adults, hosting author forums, food carts behind the store and creating an environment for everyone. Linda passes this shop when she pick up her granddaughter from Abernathy Elementary School, located across the street. She chose this symbol of Portland for its fun murals and friendly atmosphere inside and out.
Using some of the colors from the murals and exterior paint, Linda decided to weave a dishtowel using a twill variation in 8/2 cotton boucle, designs from Deborah Chandler’s Learning to Weave (Altering Drafts chapter) and yarns from Jane Stafford Weaving Studio.
