The U.S. Bancorp Tower in downtown Portland has 42 stories and was completed in 1983. Due to the shape of the lot, the building’s footprint is a parallelogram, not a rectangle; the angle between the east and north sides is 70 degrees. The pink granite was quarried in Spain, and the windows are also pink. Both colors change during the day depending on the light. The building is currently for sale!

The hanging was woven using Silk City Bambu 7 and Bambu 12 in Summer and Winter on 14 shafts of a 32-shaft Louet Megado loom with a computer dobby. Janis wove the north side, then removed part of the warp and wove the east side. Both sides of the weaving are displayed.

The spider is weaving a web to repair an unfortunate snip to the east side of the building. It was knit using a free pattern from ODDknit.
