PNW Felts is presenting for the third year at the

PNW Felts is presenting for the third year at the Gathering if the Guilds, in Booth 15H. Vancouver based textile artist Patty White offers her unique scarves, wraps and two sided bohemian caps made from fine unspun merino wool and a variety of textile components. Patty is a sight impaired visual artist whose process for scarves and wraps begins on big tables with large, flowing dry layouts that are wetted out and agitated by hand in the ancient wet felting tradition. After a lot of manipulation, the finely crafted pieces become half their original size and turn into soft, light weight fabric inviting wearers to enjoy the many ways these two sided designs can be worn. From Angela Ehrig's childhood in Germany, where she watched her mother recreate Chanel costumes, to her current studio in Seattle’s Crown Hill neighborhood, Angela says her journey in fashion has been one of constant learning. (Her business name “Engayla” reflects the German pronunciation of her name, Angela)

She learned garment construction and detail from her mother, then had formal sewing classes in Germany. She moved to the U.S. in the 1990s, honing her skills through design and pattern-making courses in Seattle. Today, she focuses on creating garments that blend her European training with the creative freedom she has found in America, designing pieces that emphasize thoughtful construction, material selection, and wearability, letting fabrics guide the process. Her work combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary styles to create unique, handcrafted clothing.

The upcoming Celebration of Creativity Fine Art Exhibit & Sale will include 4 Members of the Portland Handeavers Guild - including Jackie Howard Kraybill. Jackie will be bringing both hand knit and hand woven items to this event. One of the knit items is this silk and mohair scarf in several shades of turquoise and teal. Jackie will have a large selection of these hand knit scarves, which can be worn several ways and come in many color choices. Many of the yarns are hand-dyed, making them truly "one of a kind"! Perfect for gifts - or for you.

The Portland Handweavers Guild has 4 Members in the Celebration of Creativity Fine Art Exhibit and Sale! Yowza!!

Laura Bautista will have lots of hand woven pillows in many color combos - plus lots of her hand woven carpets - at the upcoming Celebration of Creativity Sale. You will definitely want to check these out!! 4th Generation Zapotec Weaver Laura creates "one of a kind" woven pillows and carpets, some with traditional designs and others with a more "Bauhaus" look.

I love the way she and Francisco "sign" their weavings - with the 4 dots, signifying they are the 4th generation in their family of weavers. Super Cool!

PHG Member Denise Wild created this striking hand-woven cowl (Infinity Scarf) using the Deflected Double Weave technique. Yowza!! I have purchased several of her Deflected Double Weave items and they are truly "one of a kind"! Denise will have lots of hand woven scarves, cowls and towels for sale at the Upcoming Celebration of Creativity Exhibit and Sale - so you don't want to miss out!

Celebration of Creativity is a Juried Art Show, featuring all types of Art. This is the 46th annual show, and it's really worth seeing all the art forms represented! It starts TONIGHT, March 6 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm and will feature a live Jazz Duo. It's free to attend and there is lots of free parking, so Easy Peasy!
