Galadriel Breezy

From October through March there are typically over 10,000 crows roosting in downtown Portland. They gather before sunset, rest in hundreds of trees overnight, and spread throughout the city to forage during the day.

Some of those crows hang out near Galadriel during the day. Watching her neighborhood “regulars” in the green area outside our living room window inspires her to create personalities reflecting each individual crow. A basic cloth crow body which she can reduce or enlarge is stitched and stuffed. Plasticlay is used for the beak and floral wire for legs and feet. All parts are made from gleaned fabric, beads, embroidery & embellishments to create a unique crow character.
