These unusual letters are painted on the former home of Ruthie’s Weaving Studio at 3131 SE 50th Avenue in Portland.The studio was there from October 31, 2000 through December 31, 2023.
The weaving was part of a warp used for images for greeting cards, woven three across on a 32-shaft Louet Megado loom with a computer dobby. The weave structure is Summer and Winter, with 60/2 silk as the warp, 120/2 silk as the tie-down weft, and 30/2 silk as the pattern weft. Ruthie’s sold several framed copies as part of a fundraiser for the move to the new studio location in January 2024.
