NOTICE: Meetings will be held both in-person and on Zoom until further notice. Zoom links are provided in the PHG Calendar where Zoom participation is available.

PHG meets on the second Thursday of every month during September - June at the Multnomah Art Center.

Morning Meetings 10am - noon, 9:30am social
Evening Meetings 7pm - 9pm, 6:30 social

Meetings are free and open to the public. Meetings generally follow the same agenda:

Here’s news from the Band Weaving Study Group.

  • Meeting May 18 2024
    Who was there: Lynne, Dan, Vianne, Constance, Cindy, Elise, Peggy, and Kay First we discussed our General Meeting presentation. Constance will present via Zoom. Demonstrations Lynne demonstrated Baltic Pickup on a Sunna style band heddle. There was a sidebar into using a 3D printer to create the heddle. Constance shared her hardware store components tablet weaving loom, and also how she came to a full understanding of what was happening. Her learning source was Collingwood, because of his detailed pictures.   • Meeting April 23 2024
    Who was there: Sue, Kay, Peggy, Lynne, Constance, Dan, Billy, and Cindy Demonstration Lynne demonstrated Pebble Weaving on her Windhaven Accordion loom. There was a discussion of the Pebble Weaving technique, and ways to achieve the three sheds (Pebble Weave 1, Pebble Weave 2, and Heddled). Lynne uses the picking cross technique; Kay uses actual sheds created with half heddles. There was also a discussion of the pluses and minuses of the Windhaven Accordion loom.   • Meeting March 23 2024
    There was a massive show and tell session. Elise spun and dyed (with natural dyes!) her yarn, and is in the process of weaving with a band heddle she carved herself. Sue brought in her Seidel tape loom. We all brought our band weaving libraries, so we could see what everyone uses as a resource. Dixon’s Inkle Weaving book was popular. Kay Inglin demonstrated a variety of inkle weaving techniques on 3 different inkle looms, pebble weave and others.
