- Call to Order – Meeting started at 7:00pm

- Old Business
- Get back to WEGO about scholarship money. What are we going to do?
- (Sue) Pandemic made it difficult for guilds to spend the money. We are the last guild to spend the money. Need a report on the workshop. $500. Or, we could pass and give the money back. We have until 22 Oct to decide. Dan suggests we try to schedule yet another screening date for Interlacements in the MAC auditiorium. Linda will contact Marilyn. The auditorium has sufficient AV equipment.
- Weftover Sale Update
- Dan sent out a flyer. Asked to be posted on Guild FB and Instagram accounts. (Post on your personal FB page). Tag #portlandtextilemonth. Lynne will put on Ravelry in the PDX and PNW Ravelers.

- Adding more board members to socials to post.

- ANWG Awards Sponsorship
- (Sue) for the conference. (Dan) conference in June. Soliciting for sponsorship for awards. List of awards provided (on the conference website). Or we could come up with our own. Something to honor or memorialize member of guild. Best shawl or scarf handwoven with 4 shafts or fewer. Whatever was budgeted. $200 for conference expenses, but that includes the booth. We don’t know how much the booth will cost. Shrouding the mannequins to avoid hats/wigs on mannequins. $50 for booth, $150 for award. Dan will let Dorald know.
- For example, Central OR Spinners and Weavers, $150 in memory of Linda Davis, juried show, peoples choice.
- We sponsored reusing materials for the Prince George ANWG.
- New Member Tea Update
- (Sarah) Either the 15/16 of October which is also OFF and Workshop. We will do Washington Art Education conference (Nov 5) Will need a venue that isn’t her house. Should we rent a room at the MAC? Tea and pastries. Would need budget for that. Do I have a budget? Tentatively Sun Dec 11. Location TBD.

- (Robin) was going to ask at the new member tea for someone to do it. Recruit for someone to do them in December.
- Raffle for WARP
- Weave a Real Peace. Raffling things away for that. Sue – cleaned out the closet that way. Should still be rolls of tickets. Yes, there are. Box for raffle items, too. Maybe a goodie bag. HGA sends out a goodie bag.
- Good job for a new member. 2 for $1?
2. New Business
- New Home for PHG
- We were looking at strip malls. Handicapped access. On main roads. Bus or MAX. Lloyd Center is looking at options for artsy-craftsy to rent.
- Square footage of BB court. What is our minimum square footage? More than 1200 feet. Furniture (tables, chairs). Storage.
- (Sue) the list came from pre-pandemic. MAC was super popular, lots of demand for space. PHG as a tenant was feeling pressured to pare back. Rents for rooms for workshop were over $100/day (Lynne: hah. You should see them now) Options that would pair us up with another guild. Eastside industrial complex – many artist colonies there. Maybe pair up with woodworkers. Thought MAC would not offer us a new lease. But they did. MAC is now a lot less crowded. Pared down a lot of their classes. We should still make an informed decision on what we want to do.
- Also be able to rent out space for other guilds to host their workshops.
- Old garages/gas stations in Multnomah Village.
- Wildcraft has a space they’ve split into two rooms.
- How do we move forward?
- Does 501c3 open up options.
- Better public access (transit)
- More centrally located.
- Sell items, stock some fibers
- Separate area for an office, to store records and all. Have a private conversation.
- Library and rental equipment closed off from the main space.
- Maker space where people can rent time on, say, the baby wolf, rent it to use there.
- Store would have a “social/hangout” space to come and spin, chat, visit. A community building space.
- What’s our budget? What are we spending currently for all our spaces? How likely are we able to rent out our space to other guilds?
- What are our contacts in other guilds/organizations? If there was a space, would you be interested. Jane W is in the basketry guild. Bead society. Spinners and dyers? Sylvan Dyers (Eva)
- Who to talk to at Lloyd Center?
- (Sue) shouldn’t overlook other groups. Weight watchers, book clubs, others not in the fiber area.
- Current budget at MAC: closet $2100, MAC rentals $2200. Sales and workshops pay for themselves. Utilities, insurance ($180/yr), Internet.
- Minnesota guild building their space. How they got their own space (leased). Workshops, classes, meetings, fiber groups coming in. A busy fiber center.
- In a new space, will probably stick with the shelves we have.
- Current lease expires: end of June 2023.
- Jordan Schnitzer leasing 3000sq feet for $250/month.
4. (sidebar; not sure where it goes) Linda to Robin (Steve Graff from Maryhill Museum) theatre de la mode; our mannequins are based on that. If printed out and bound, do we want for the library. Robin – sure
