I’m downsizing and have a 4 shaft barn-framed loom that needs a new home. The loom has been restored and has been used to weave both fine and heavy items. It’s currently disassembled and located in my garage. This loom is a “four post” loom. It was collected in Little Deer Isle, Maine in 1991. It’s most likely from Maine, but probably not from Little Deer Isle. Missing beams were made by a wooden boat builder in Maine, using oak that had originally been intended for a boat keel. Some replacement small parts and final assembly were done by a retired foundry pattern maker here in Oregon. This loom will probably weave 45” wide (1 ¼ yards.) The very heavy beater makes this loom quite effortless to use. The gear for this loom (shaft bars, cordage, pulleys) has been stowed in a drawstring bag to keep it clean. The shaft bars and the cordage are new. The treadles are old, but probably aren’t original to this loom. No heddles are included – you’ll have to make or buy your own. FREE. Forest Grove, OR.
