Several Portland organizations offer on-going education or degree programs in textile arts:
Oregon College of Art and Craft
Offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in fiber arts. Techniques and processes studied include surface design, weaving, multi-dimensional fiber construction, embroidery, felting, papermaking, dyeing, and alternative processes. Community education classes are also available.
Multnomah Arts Center
Offers classes for children and adults in art, dance, theatre, music, and a variety of crafts, including weaving and spinning.
Ruthie’s Weaving Studio
Offers individual instruction in weaving for weavers at any level.
Damascus School of Arts and Craft
Housed in a two-room schoolhouse over a century old, the Damascus Fiber Arts School offers continuing classes in the art and craft of handwoven tapestry.
Sue Kohut
